About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Plant HR Manager to join our team. You will provide an effective HR service to Managers and Employees within our Aberdare factory, working as part of the broader UK HR Team. Working within a fast-paced, operationally focused environment the role will provide first line support and guidance to Managers and Employees on a range of HR topics.
Please note this is a part time position. 24 hours per week preferred with flexibility in how these are worked)

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of best practice human resource solutions that support the Plant to achieve improved performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Support the local implementation of HR strategy including compensation and benefits, training, strategic recruitment programs and employee relations programs.
  • Uphold and support managers with Prysmian Group and UK policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and escalating as necessary.
  • Support and administer the absence management process including monitoring employee absence providing guidance to Managers on the relevant Absence Control Procedure and organise weekly absence meetings amongst the site leadership team
  • In conjunction with Talent Acquisition, coordinate the recruitment process, including screening CVs, participate in interviews / assessment centres and draft offers of employment. Ensure that an effective and timely recruitment process is provided.
  • Manage the onboarding and induction processes in accordance with UK Policies and Procedures.
  • Handle employee relations issues and disputes, supporting Managers with investigations of misconduct issues, complaints or grievances; problem and conflict resolution and corrective actions predominantly with the non-desk worker population.
  • Support Discipline and Grievance processes and provide guidance to Line Managers to ensure a best practice approach.
  • Support the implementation of actions identified via the annual Company’s engagement survey, “Speak Up” in addition to supporting Managers to grow participation and build positive relationships.
  • Manage trade union relationships, including but not limited to negotiation with union representatives on plant agreements – writing and monitoring of agreements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ideally educated to degree standard in a relevant discipline (for example Business or Human Resources)
  • Extensive experience providing a generalist HR service preferably within an operational (Logistics / Manufacturing) environment
  • A CIPD qualification (level 5) is desirable
  • Proven ability to communicate at a variety of levels
  • Experience working with Trade Unions would be beneficial
  • Experience in advising on complex ER matters
  • Thorough understanding of HR best practices and industry trends
  • Experience and passion in leading mental health and wellbeing initiatives
