Job Summary
IFF Plant Manager – Grindsted, Denmark
Our Grindsted production site in Denmark is looking for a Plant Manager.
The high-tech production site in Grindsted is among the biggest manufactures of food ingredients using chemical and biological processes to produce emulsifiers, enzymes, antioxidants, antimicrobials, hydrocolloids. We utilize more than 10 interconnected production areas including first class laboratories and highly automated process units. Further the Grindsted site features a state-of -the-art CO2-neutral powerplant delivering steam and electricity for our production as well as local city households.
Your Focus
The Plant Manager will provide direct management through the local site leadership team including operations, quality, EH&S, manufacturing technology and logistics. The Plant Manager is responsible for operational activities in line with the global operations strategy to achieve objectives relating to people, safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory.
We expect you to be technically savvy as well as people, customer, and business oriented. You lead by example and have a proven track record of demonstrating excellent leadership, collaboration, and communications skills.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Communication, promotion and attainment of our vision, values, strategies & objectives
- Deep interest in the local labor market model as well as a focus on maintaining trust-based close cooperation with elected employee representatives and associated committees.
- Driving our performance to be best in class in People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory
- Drive and promote IFF Operating System implementation via effective coaching and team engagement.
- Leading site safety and sustainability engagement, focus and commitment to zero
- Creating a culture of employee engagement, trust and people capability development
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion ambassador
- Acting as a change agent, challenging paradigms and fostering a continuous improvement process and problem-solving culture at all levels
- Delivering high customer service through appropriate capacity maintenance, capacity improvement, adherence to manufacturing plans and effective communication
- Driving high production capability through utilization of improvement programs and maintenance best practices
- Achieving our financial goals (cost, cost productivity & inventory)
- Driving collaboration within the plant and across our global network, interacting effectively with business and functional leaders
- Assessing and advancing competitiveness of the facility
- Setting the future vision for the organization and defining critical operating objectives for the site
- Compliance with regulations and company policies and processes
- Leading and promoting community relations activities
Your Profile:
- Degree in related technical field
- 10 + years industrial or chemical process experience and 5+ years of Plant Manager experience.
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration and communication skills.
- Demonstrated capability to quickly understand technology and drive / support change.
- Proven ability to lead cultural change and create winning teams.
- Ability to set priorities and provide direction to influence management and broader organization.
- Proven commitment, focus and effectiveness on advancing company values.
- Data driven, action oriented and works with a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated ability to create a respectful work environment where everyone can contribute to their full potential.
- Background in Lean Manufacturing Principals preferred.
