Description:
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Percent of time spent on:
25% Designing and developing protocols
25% Performing research work
25% Recording and analyzing data generated by research study
10% Writing grant proposals
10% Preparing scientific and technical papers
03% Liaison with researchers
02% Miscellaneous paperwork associated with research
Responsibilities:
- Design experiments and develop protocols required to conduct productive research, with guidance from Linda Baker MD and Nathalia Amado, Ph.D (Sr. Research Scientist).
- Design and conduct laboratory-based experiments in cell culture, molecular biology, and/or genetically engineered mouse models.
- Reprogram human and mouse cells to become induced pluripotent stem cells
- Perform smooth muscle cell differentiation and organoid induction
- Critically evaluate and interpret data and determine next steps.
- Write and publish scientific manuscripts and present the research at professional meetings
- Contribute to grant submissions for external funding
- Apply for postdoctoral fellowships and career development award from the AUA and/or NIH
- Works toward research independence
