Description:

  • Master’s degree in biochemistry, biology, bioengineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of work experience in development of in vitro diagnostics products or components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the strategy and approach for development of diagnostic assays for infectious diseases and other targets
  • Participate hands-on in assay testing and development as an exemplary practitioner in the field
  • Formulate validation and verification plans to test assay performance
  • Lead the evaluation of third-party diagnostics technologies to evaluate strengths, weaknesses, and partnership opportunities
  • Serve as the primary advocate and knowledge resource for a cross-functional development team on issues related to diagnostic testing
  • Ph.D. in chemistry, biology, bioengineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with molecular diagnostics assay development
  • Effective communicator, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and written.
  • Experience with development of point-of-care diagnostic tests
  • Comfortable in business and technical discussions with executive audiences.
  • Experience with operations in a high-volume, high-complexity CLIA lab.
  • Experience working, presenting and communicating with key stakeholders.
