The client Buddy Advisory is proud to be partnering with Propel Ventures, the AI transformation partner for ambitious Australian businesses. Propel rewires how organisations work: operating model, ways of working, capability and governance, so AI changes the work, not just the toolkit. Founded in 2016, Propel has grown into a 50-strong consultancy with hubs in Melbourne and Sydney. As both strategists and practitioners, they drive both the roadmap and the reality. Their partnerships with Anthropic, AWS, Microsoft and Google give clients access to cutting-edge capability, backed by a team with the expertise to effectively deploy it. The role Propel's AI Advisory & Transformation practice is growing fast, and we're now on the search for a Principal who can comfortably operate at C-suite level; owning engagements end-to-end, from problem framing through to strategy and delivery. Expect two to three executive-led accounts at any time, plus a hand in growing the practice and mentoring the team behind you. The responsibilities • Own senior product relationships across executive-led engagements; AI Strategy & Roadmap and Embedded Transformation Partner shapes. • Run executive education, AI Sprints, capability assessments and use-case discovery with C-suite and operator teams. • Shape AI strategies, capability uplift plans and prioritised use-case roadmaps backed by commercial and risk evidence. • Set the bar for our AI PDLC consulting; operating model design, AI-native ways of working, governance and adoption. • Lead, mentor and review the work of product consultants on your engagements. • Drive account growth; spot the next opportunity, shape it and convert it. • Contribute to practice-building: artefacts, IP, frameworks and hiring. The requirements • A seasoned operator with 8+ years spanning product and consulting; including at least 3 years at senior or principal level in a credible consulting environment • Track record landing strategy or transformation engagements end-to-end; sold, scoped, delivered, expanded. • Exec-level stakeholder presence: comfortable in a board conversation about AI and able to shift between C-suite and operators in the same day. • Strong product mindset; you spot the leverage point, define the MVP, and know what is worth doing and what is not. • Genuinely all-in on AI personal productivity. You are using tools like Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor daily; we expect that fluency on day one. • Confident communicator on the page, on stage and in the room.
