Responsibilities:

Your key responsibilities may include:

  • Involved in the development and governance of batch processes and standards, liaising with batch developers for optimal solution design for batch scripts.
  • Responsible for batch flow optimisation to ensure we can rationalise and simplify the batch flows/tasks.
  • Providing technical leadership and support to a project team involved in migrating and converting schedules from legacy scheduling tools to Westpac’s strategic scheduling tool.
  • Performing quality reviews of the newly developed batch flow/jobs prior to production deployment.
  • Providing specialised third-level support and technical assistance on major incidents and issues to ensure their timely resolution.
  • Undertaking problem determination and root cause analysis for business impacting problems to ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented appropriately.
  • Planning, reviewing, and assessing major proposed changes as required to ensure successful implementation of service changes.
  • Ensuring the stability and availability of batch services, driving effective capacity planning, monitoring, and improvements to performance.
  • Engaging with relevant stakeholders to ensure business requirements are understood and appropriately translated into service requirements.
  • Understanding business continuity requirements and providing expertise in the development and management of disaster recovery plans.
  • Assessing latest developments in batch technology and continually evaluate and advise on operational aspects of new technology and its potential to enhance or replace existing systems to ensure that relevant new technologies are adopted

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent and verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder management experience and be self-driven. In addition to this, your skills may include:

  • Extensive experience in Control M, including designing, implementing and supporting Control-M as an enterprise-wide batch scheduling platform, running critical batch workloads.
  • Extensive experience in designing, implementing and supporting major Control-M migrations, upgrades and optimisations.
  • Extensive experience with Batch Operations and Batch Scheduling.
  • Solid experience in driving the strategic roadmap for Batch.
  • Expert analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting and consultative skills.
  • Highly experienced and hands-on with building code and automations using a variety of coding and scripting languages
  • Firm understanding of a financial services operating environment and core applications and products desirable.
  • Experience with other scheduler tools like CA ESP and IWS is highly desirable.
  • Mainframe experience is highly desirable
