Description:

Title: Production Repack Manager
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Based at: Mucci Pac Ltd., Kingsville, Ontario
Revision Date: June 23, 2021
Type of Employment: Full time, permanent, 6 days per week including extended hours depending on workload and priorities, which will include Saturdays, and possible Sundays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of production needs of produce
  • 5 + years experience managing or supervising in a production environment
  • Ability to build and maintain a team, leading direct reports and repack employees over a 3 shift operation (inclusive of box making and material handling).
  • Ability to plan and organize the optimization of existing automated lines, and the start-up of new production automation lines
  • Strong knowledge of business management principles- budgeting, planning, resource allocation, human resources, and cost accounting
  • Strong knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, and yield, to include the measuring, reporting and goal setting for the department
  • Knowledge of packaging material, and reducing packaging material waste, especially plastic
  • Strong MS Excel and MS Outlook skills. Knowledge of Famous preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
  • Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare production schedules and coordinate activities to ensure the on-time production will meet customer specifications, correct quantities, and quality standards
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results, especially processing costs and product quality
  • Develop routines that track productivity, yields, waste, and quality, while setting performance targets for the department. (Utilize Marco Systems and advance program as necessary)
  • Communicate and resolve all quality and production issues with appropriate team members, to include collaboration with internal departments that support production
  • Communicate with Purchasing Department regarding produce packaging material suppliers and equipment manufacturers to increase efficiencies and reduce waste
  • Promote department-wide culture of teamwork and transparency
  • Ensure compliance with all human resources, safety and food safety policies, practices, and procedures
  • Focus interdepartmental communication and planning to organize with peers and Warehouse manager for fluid daily operations and adaptations.
  • Champion WMS system and integration with CI/ Implementation managers to incorporate with the functions in repack areas.
  • Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by Warehouse manager and the Company.
