Responsibilities

A new vacancy is now available for a Production Planner. Reporting to the Production Planning Lead the Production Planner will prepare production and capacity plans for:
Weekly Supply Plans
Quarterly Production, Supply & Inventory planning, and
Annual Operation and Financial planning cycles.
The Production Planner will also ensure that service and inventory metrics are acheived

Duties:

  • Translating demand forecasts and customer orders into Supply Plans and Schedules.
  • Monitor production progress and identify potential issues or bottlenecks; develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and minimise disruptions.
  • Analyse production capacity, material availability, and resource allocation to optimise production efficiency.
  • Develop schedules by work centre ensuring optimized use of available capacity.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the Planning and Scheduling systems (SAP APO & related planning databases).
  • Coordinate with Buyers to ensure timely procurement of materials and components needed for production.
  • Supporting long term capacity planning through analysing and updating long range demand data.
  • Work cross functionally with QC, P&T and Production Supervisors/Managers to resolve supply issues.
  • Weekly reporting on key updates from Production Planning.
  • Monitor the flow of materials from raw Materials to finished goods (Warehouse , Production, QC, Packaging, Supply Chain)
  • Coordinating cross functional activities to achieve targeted service levels.
  • Maintain the MRP data on SAP for assigned products and areas.
  • Support the preparation of the site Sales & Operations Planning Process
  • Prepare supply chain metrics on a weekly basis.
  • Chair routine and ad hoc planning and scheduling meetings as required, communicating changes and additions to production schedules.
  • Proactively complete monthly obsolesce inventory review, classify potential risk and identify opportunities to minimize obsolescence.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize SAP functionality and reporting.
  • Contribute to the Strategic development of the planning function and support continuous improvement efforts using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Support and execute any other duties as assigned
