Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Portland, ME; Augusta, ME (General Office).

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $94,490 to $118,113.
Job Summary
The Project Manager reports to the Senior Manager within the Projects and Processes Control Center organization, which is responsible for both executing critical operating systems and infrastructure projects to help enable grid modernization and supporting Energy Control Center compliance. This position is responsible for supporting project financials and execution, and the development of projects’ scope, schedule, and budget. Requires close collaboration with peers across Connecticut, Maine, and New York and other groups, particularly Electric and Gas Operations and Operational Smart Grids (e.g., Control Systems & Automation, Smart Metering, Infrastructure & Compliance, and Telecommunications).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting budget tracking and development, forecasts, variances, benefit-cost analysis, and procurement from the business side (e.g., prepare purchase requests and purchase orders; processes receipts, accruals, and invoices as part of the purchasing process).
  • Supports the development and implementation of technical project scope, schedule, design, execution, and transition to operations.
  • Evaluates regulatory filings to ensure project compliance.
  • Collaborates across all areas of the organization including Customer Service, IT, Control, Gas and Electric Operations, Regulatory, and Operational Smart Grids.
  • Implements change management with the goal of improving organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Experience leading technical cross-functional teams preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience navigating procurement processes, including the development of RFPs, contract requirements, and Statements of Work with milestones required.
  • Experience with financial budgeting, forecasting, tracking, invoicing, and payment and accrual processes required.
  • Experience using project management software (e.g., MS Project. Primavera, Smartsheet) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP required.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving decision-making, learning new technologies and systems, and building cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders preferred.
  • Experience with Change Management preferred.
  • Experience in IT / OT (e.g., telecommunications, network or systems engineering, application support) project management, and/or operations preferred.
  • Experience working in gas and/or electric utilities preferred.
