Join Barclays as a Senior Technical Project Manager and take a pivotal role in advancing our Operational Optimization, Efficiency, and Simplification initiative. You will lead the strategic roadmap that transforms operational performance by leveraging technology to streamline, simplify, and automate key processes across our teams.

To be successful as a Senior Technical Project Manager, you should have:

  • Robust technical project management expertise, with a proven ability to lead complex initiatives from inception to delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of payments and payment flows, including high-level system architectures and coordination across multiple component teams to ensure aligned delivery and comprehensive end-to-end testing.
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale programmes, encompassing budget tracking, risk and issue management, and execution against ambitious delivery plans, supported by exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Additional highly valued capabilities include:

  • Experience guiding decisions on tooling, DevOps practices, environment strategy, and release pipeline design, ensuring scalable and efficient delivery frameworks.
  • Proven ability to coordinate testing efforts across UAT, performance, and security domains, driving quality assurance across the full delivery lifecycle.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex negotiations and influence outcomes effectively.

This role is based in Knutsford and Northampton.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Management of change projects within the organisation, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Development and management of project plans that outline the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for change projects.
  • Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about project progress and that their needs and expectations are being met.
  • Management of project teams, ensuring that they are properly resourced and that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on project objectives.
  • Management of project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed budget.
  • Creation of reports on project progress to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Management of project risks, ensuring that risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary.
  • Facilitation of change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change projects are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
