PROJECT MANAGER, BEVERAGE MANUFACTURING

The Project Manager/Engineer role exists to provide technical improvements, oversite, troubleshooting, support, and project leadership in the various locations including VA, PA, GA, NJ, and AZ. This position will work closely with many facets of personnel, including but not limited to ownership, executive management, plant managers, 3rd parties, vendors, contractors, and other corporate engineers and technical team members.

RECOMMENDED EXPERIENCE:

  • Working with and installing systems including air distribution systems, Pasteurizers, HVAC systems, refrigeration system, controls, fluid handling systems, and/or packaging equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of and responsible for Mechanical Systems including chillers, cooling towers, supply distribution piping and pumps, air compressors and dryers, air-handlers, make-up air units, VFDs, boilers, exhaust fans, heat exchangers, tanks, process cooling water and DI water systems.
  • Proven ability to work in a large, complex environment where you must adapt to meet company needs.
  • Responsible for mechanical engineering support as needed for the design, operation, and maintenance of the companys manufacturing assets in the GA, PA, AZ, NJ and VA locations in close collaboration with multiple departments.
  • Design mechanical components, sub-assemblies and complete machine assemblies as needed; present results in the form of 3D drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
  • Design piping systems including material selection, pump/line sizing calculations, valve sizing, component selection and present results in the form of process flow diagram, piping & instrumentation diagrams and 3D piping drawings including bills of material.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the use of structured problem-solving methods to determine root causes of chronic manufacturing problems and identify cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage capital projects of unlimited size including design reviews, cost estimates, design & installation specifications, scheduling, communication, factory & site acceptance testing, safety audits and financial accounting.
  • Provide on-site supervision and technical support during emergency maintenance events
  • Ability to analyze, write, and modify programs to optimize machine efficiency. Identify potential tooling upgrades and changes to maximize productivity.
  • Provide assistance to maintenance and contractors to limit machine downtime.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of complex and sometimes unusual problems that require independent judgment and ingenuity to modify procedure standards related to plant layout, design and construction.
  • Project manage, coordinate and update on an array of projects and facilities from multiple managers.
  • Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment design. Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering cost, space available, time constraints, accompany planning, and other technical and economic factors.
  • Examines and approves engineering drawings, design computations, etc. to ensure compliance with sound engineering practices and safe operating standards, codes and regulations.
  • Conducts preliminary surveys and prepares sketches and/or work drawings for the construction and modification of tooling and fixtures.
  • Inspects materials, workmanship, as well as mechanical and electrical installations for conformance to plans and specification.
  • Reviews and approves shop drawings and cost breakdowns submitted by suppliers and contractors of projects.
  • Discusses plans, specifications, and work schedules with assigned plant personnel or contractors and resolves problems associated with projects & equipment.
  • Maintains records of progress, quantities, changes, delays and other pertinent factors affecting projects & equipment.
  • Controls cost and identifies opportunities to reduce cost relating to materials, installation, energy consumption, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required. These duties may include assignment in job classification other than the primary assignment.
