ABOUT THE ROLE

For the initial ramp-up phase of our North American operations we are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Project Manager who thrives in fast-paced and fast-changing environments. As part of the ramp-up team, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Indirect Procurement and work closely with the local Director, Indirect Procurement; the PowerCo SE team members at Headquarters in Germany as well as colleagues from the Volkswagen Group in the North American Region to help establish the Procurement division of the new company.
This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Kick off Procurement sourcing projects above 75,000 CAD, getting the involved stakeholders together to understand scope and objectives for the sourcing and to discuss high-level expectations and timelines for the project.
  • Create the RFP timelines for the procurement projects, utilizing project management tools and considering the processes, timing, resources, and capabilities of all PowerCo stakeholders involved in the selection and contracting of external suppliers.
  • Ensure that all relevant stakeholders have been identified and that they are engaged at the appropriate times throughout the procurement process.
  • Maintain traceability and follow up on the progress of each milestone of the RFP timeline, ensuring their completion and communicate to all stakeholders accordingly.
  • Provide timely visibility of any deviations or constrains, driving the decision making and/or escalations both with the internal PowerCo’s Departments involved in the Procurement Project and with the different organizational levels.
  • Create and maintain the Annual Procurement Plan for PowerCo Canada.
  • Advise PowerCo’s Business Units on the processes/steps to follow, required documentation and the contact persons on each of the phases of the Procurement process.
  • Ensure the successful completion of the Procurement process until supplier legal contracting and operational ramp-up.
  • Serving as a coach and mentor to new hires, accompanying them through the ramp-up phase.
  • Reporting regularly the overall status of the Annual Procurement Plan to the local Procurement Management as well as to the PowerCo SE Procurement HQ in Germany.
  • Working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or as they might pertain to the position.
