Job Title: Loading Dock Attendant/Officer
Department: Public Safety
Job Reports to: Public Safety Supervisor
Status: Non-Exempt

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a public assembly facility operation or warehouse department.
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively, both written and verbally, with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of event related equipment.
  • Record keeping, data entry, and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Able to follow directions and policies of the department.
  • Goal oriented attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain forklift certification.
  • Must have or be able to obtain TN Private Protective Services Unarmed Security Guard license.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by Power’s insurance carrier.
  • As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including a criminal history check, driving history and character references.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for receiving, unpacking, examining goods, and ensuring entire order is received – checking it against delivery or shipping, packing lists and recording any discrepancies or damages.
  • Record all freight packaging including but not limited to UPS, DHL and FedEx for all Bridgestone Arena staff and track all activity within the facility.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and security of the loading dock facility ensuring that it is in a clean, safe condition at all times.
  • Develop close relationships with internal clients, merchants, vendors and complex occupants to facilitate their needs of the loading dock facility.
  • Work closely with receptionists/office coordinators regarding all shipments, assuring timely pickup and delivery to appropriate parties.
  • Check to ensure that all equipment in the loading dock is functioning properly on a daily basis.
  • Ensure loading dock rules and regulations are being adhered to, including inspection of all trucks that enter the loading dock.
  • Perform basic ordering, processing, and record-keeping tasks.
  • Work with supervisor to develop, prioritize, and effectively implement the area work list.
  • Partner with contractors and vendors to maintain the trash and recycling operations in an acceptable manner.
  • Coordinate with Events/Operations staff on incoming and outgoing show related packages; loading and unloading of the materials at the proper storage areas for distribution as needed for events, etc.
  • Work with incoming events to ensure their production trucks are managed properly.
  • Maintain a delivery log and expected delivery list for Arena and event deliveries.
  • Responsible the movement of vehicles on the loading dock.
  • Complete daily shift reports.
  • Appropriately use hand carts, dollies, or similar equipment to move goods in delivery location.
  • Accurately load, unload, move, and store supplies and goods on pallets, trays, and shelves.
  • Appropriately use power equipment and forklift to move goods.
  • Resolve routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Comply with safety rules including but not limited to attending and participating in safety training, participating actively in the safety process, asking questions if something is not known, reporting all accidents and injuries immediately, and submitting suggestions to improve safety.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
