Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for accurate analysis, documentation, and reporting of specified analytical
    parameters for products (including co-pack) at a variety of points during the process, according

to standard sampling programs.

  • Responsible for accurate analysis, documentation, and reporting of specified microbial

parameters for products (including co-pack) at a variety of points during the process, according

to standard sampling programs.

  • Responsible for identification of non-standard elements of risk and reporting situations to

appropriate supervisory staff in affected department and to Quality Assurance Manager.

  • Responsible for identification of non-conforming products, placing production on quality hold,

as per procedure and investigation of incidents

  • Responsible for the completion of audits of the GMP, quality procedures, food safety

procedures and standard operating procedures

  • Ensure all raw materials (including water) are of standard quality to ensure safety, quality and

consistency of the product

  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, including clean in place
  • Maintain Good Housekeeping Practices in designated work areas
  • Maintain accurate and legible documentation
  • Responsible for the investigation of consumer inquiries and reporting of findings to the Quality

Assurance Manager

  • Responsible for the preparation of sensory panels for standard defect analysis and product

development

  • Other tasks or duties as assigned by supervision or management, that may be required to

ensure the continues success of the company

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed a Science related field or Quality Control/Assurance program
  • 1+ years’ experience in a QA position
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality of work
  • Communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and written
  • Contributes to an environment of continuous improvement and cost savings
  • Shows willingness to learn new skills; gain new knowledge to meet or exceed job performance
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team; is flexible (when required) to get work done
  • Observes the company’s policies and guidelines (includes health and safety policies)
  • Demonstrates commitment to fellow co-workers by regular attendance and punctuality at work
  • Sound Laboratory technique
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid command of safety requirements
  • Ability to work Continental shifts which includes days, nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must have CSA approved steel toes safety shoes

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for
ensuring product meets all regulatory and customer requirements , assist with investigations into out of
specification conditions of product, act as a technical resource for operators in all department, while
working in a safe manner according to operational policies and procedures.
