CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years as a Quality Manager in the automotive manufacturing/assembly industry, with expertise in IATF 16949 and VDA standards. Successful experience with operations and continuous improvement is required.
  • Proficiency in IATF 16949 and VDA standards.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting methodologies (e.g., 8D) and root cause analysis tools (e.g., Ishikawa, 5 Whys, Is/Is Not, Fault Tree).
  • Strong personnel management and administrative skills.
  • Proficient in core tools (APQP, MSA, SPC, PPAP, PFMEA).
  • Experience with JDE and Minitab is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in conversational and business English.
  • Strong leadership and managerial abilities with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to drive strategic development and deployment initiatives.
  • Experience working with JDE and Minitab is preferred
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification preferred; certifications in IATF 16949, VDA, PSCR, and AIAG Core Tools are highly advantageous.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

Establish and implement quality strategies and objectives for the IMI Transportation Sector at the Querétaro, Mexico plant to meet and exceed customer and company expectations. Continuously enhance the effectiveness of the quality management system to align with established standards and the company’s vision. Collaborate across all operational areas, including planning, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, human resources, and maintenance, to achieve quality goals.
Work Environment: On-site

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve and enhance quality levels for production, new products, supplier quality, regulatory compliance, and business processes.
  • Coordinating with the site GM and the management team, ensure compliance with the Quality Management System including corporate, customer specific, and internal standards, including IATF 16949 and VDA.
  • Set and monitor goals for quality engineers, technicians, and the metrology laboratory to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a zero-defect quality mindset, manage resources effectively, and create actionable plans to meet annual objectives.
  • Collaborate directly with customers to resolve issues swiftly and minimize business impact.
  • Lead and develop problem-solving teams, sharing best practices across the organization.
  • Support the Global Vice President of Quality in aligning corporate and site strategies.
  • Model a safety culture focused on zero incidents and ensure compliance with safety objectives.
