THE REGISTERED CARDIAC ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY SPECIALIST (RCES) EXAM IS DESIGNED TO ASSESS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN CURRENT PRACTICE.
Under the general direction of the physician (Cardiologist / Radiologist), will assist by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
Ensures procedure room is adequately prepared for the procedure. Monitors par level of all instruments and supplies. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities and the training of new staff.
Assists in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION :
The Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) exam is designed to assess knowledge and skills in current practice.
Two years of full-time or full-time equivalent work experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac electrophysiology.
Diagnostic/Interventional Procedures.
One year full-time work experience in electrophysiology
As an Electrophysiology Lab Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in various electrophysiology procedures, maintaining and calibrating lab equipment, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Diagnostic/Interventional Procedures
- Advanced Mapping
- Device Implants (pacemaker, ICD, and CRT)
- Requires previous experience assisting with scrubbing procedures and monitoring data, preferably in a Cardiovascular Lab.
- Cardiovascular technician training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
- Must be a radiology technician AART-R is required
- BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required.
- Proficient computer skills.
