Working within an Allied Health Services Team you will be able to participate in Day Treatment Programming, and group therapy within inpatient psychiatry of St. Therese Healthcare Centre. Create treatment plans as part of an interdisciplinary team, advise and adapt treatment information for presentation within community psycho-education groups. An exciting opportunity exists in St. Paul, Alberta! St. Paul is located approximately 200 km northeast of Edmonton. The area is home to approximately 6000 people. St. Paul is along the southern leg of the Iron Horse Trail - 300 km of former railroad that has been adapted for hiking, biking, horseback riding, quadding, or snowmobiling. As a Recreation Therapist I, you will be working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive services for patients (clients, residents) within your assigned program or service area. You will ensure the level of therapeutic recreation practice is evidence based, patient-and family-centred, and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. You will complete assessment, treatment, education and management and provide clinical support and consultation. You will collaborate and communicate with the health care team and participate in patient rounds, family conferences and meetings as related to the client and family.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration for Professional Membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstration of knowledge with mental health and addictions clients (1+ years’ experience working with mental health clients). Familiarity with group process work and facilitation of group sessions.
