EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU BRING

This role is designed to directly influence the company’s operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability practices through strategic energy management and analytical rigor and will therefore spearhead several key aspects: Energy Contract Analysis and Optimisation, Hedge Contract Management, Energy market analysis, Reporting and Strategic Guidance and Energy Strategy Development & Implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field. A post-graduate qualification or additional certifications (e.g., CEM, Energy Risk Professional) would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in energy analysis, procurement, or a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian energy market, regulations, trends, contract structures, and financial hedging.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contracts and financial data.

Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Join our thriving team and embark on an enriching career journey as a Regional Energy Analyst. Based in Adelaide or Hobart, the Regional Energy Analyst will be responsible for supporting our Australian operations by providing comprehensive analysis and insights on electricity and gas supply contracts while monitoring hedge contracts and strategy as well as broader contract analytics to optimize energy procurement and usage. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability, aligning with our strategic objectives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF ROLE

  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operational teams to develop and implement energy strategies that reduce costs and risk and ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Provide detailed reports and insights on energy consumption, cost trends, and savings opportunities to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies and procedures within the Energy function.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability across the Australian operations.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including energy suppliers and regulatory and industry bodies, to advocate for the company’s interests and sustainability goals.
