Build on your career experience by:
- Providing direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care
- Administering chemotherapy treatments to oncology inpatients and/or outpatients
- Working collaboratively and in partnership with the interprofessional care team
- Providing education to patients and families/care givers
- Advocating for the patient's rights to privacy, dignity and access to information
- Participating in research and quality improvement activities
Your background includes:
- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP)
- BC Cancer Agency Chemotherapy Certification
This role is a casual position located at Surrey Memorial Hospital in . SMH is a 611 acute care bed, University of B.C. Affiliated, regional referral and community teaching hospital that has the busiest emergency in B.C. Located in Surrey, it is one of Canada’s fastest growing cities and its land mass makes it the largest city in the province. Known as the City of Parks, Surrey has over 6,000 acres of parkland and 15 golf courses and driving ranges. Despite rapid growth, Surrey has held onto the rural flavour of its past, with about 35 per cent of its land designated as agricultural and still actively farmed.
SMH offers medical, surgical, neonatal intensive care, tertiary, ambulatory, cardiology, rehabilitation, as well as 24/7 emergency services with 158,558 visits annually. Specific surgical services include our designated C-Section ORs, Orthopedics, ENT, General Surgery, Thoracic, Gynecology, Urology, Ophthalmology, Plastics and OMF.
