Join Our Team
You will be an Underwriter supporting our non-CAT property reinsurance portfolio. You will underwrite new and renewal Property business, as well as be a visible presence in the marketplace, develop new and existing client relationships that help to increase our market share, be dedicated to providing quality service to our key stakeholders. You will report to the Head of US non-CAT Property Reinsurance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Review and make recommendations on new and renewal property treaty business per Underwriting guidelines and industry standards.
  • Review and assess underwriting submissions, financial statements, and other relevant documents.
  • Analyze and evaluate risks; monitoring the performance of existing treaties and recommend adjustments, as needed.
  • Support the development of strategies to optimize portfolio profitability and prepare reports and presentations on portfolio performance for internal stake holders.
  • Utilize knowledge of reinsurance and insurance, regulations, as well as underwriting guidelines to make informed decisions.
  • Review new and renewal contract wordings and collaborate with the Legal Department for correct language requirements for a profitable account.
  • Participate in client and broker meetings, industry events, and conferences to build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries.
  • Collaborate with intermediaries to understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of industry trends, market conditions, and client data to accurately assess risk.
  • Remain up-to-date on industry developments and changes in regulations and policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, including claims, actuarial, and legal to gather necessary information and ensure accurate risk assessment.
  • Adhere to company underwriting standards and guidelines to ensure consistent and quality underwriting practices.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of underwriting decisions and documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and promote a positive team dynamic.
