THE ROLE

As a Release Manager at MAG, you will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating the release of high-quality software products that drive our Enterprise Technology initiatives forward. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling the development and delivery of software releases to ensure they align with business objectives and operational needs. By collaborating closely with product development, testers and project management teams, you will ensure that releases are deployed smoothly, on time, and with minimal disruption. Your technical acumen and organisational skills will be critical in managing multiple releases across various platforms, while mitigating risks and ensuring that release processes follow best practices and industry standards. Through your leadership, you will foster a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement, enabling the successful delivery of cutting-edge technology solutions to our customers.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE?

You’ll have proven experience managing the end-to-end release process in a technology environment in a similar large & complex organisation with a solid understanding of software development processes and version control. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, as well as knowledge of enterprise platforms like ServiceNow, Maximo or SAP. You’ll have extensive experience with project management frameworks and Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, alongside a familiarity with tools like Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps. You’ll have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You’ll also have a deep understanding of quality assurance and testing processes to ensure releases meet performance, reliability, and security standards with experience working with automated testing tools and frameworks. You’ll be aware of industry standards, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001), and security best practices relevant to software releases with experience ensuring that releases comply with organisational security policies and any relevant external regulations. Certifications in ITIL, DevOps, or Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster) are advantageous, demonstrating commitment to professional growth and industry standards.
