  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with children and parents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Skills in mindfulness would be an asset.
  • Prior experience working with children or parents
  • Facilitation skills would be an asse

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Empathy and understanding to children and parents coping with Juvenile Arthritis.
  • Competency to maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to interact professionally with co facilitators, researchers and families.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve research goal

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities
As part of a research project we’re looking for program facilitators to run weekly mindfulness sessions for parent and children with Juvenile Arthritis. Each session will run in 8-week blocks (September-November, January- March and March to June). This is an online program so access to a computer and internet is needed. Training in the Making Mindfulness Matter (M3) program will be provided.

Hours: 4 hours per week, flexible schedule may be required to accommodate programming needs.
