ABOUT WESTERN
Since 1878, Western University has been committed to serving our communities through the pursuit of academic excellence and by providing students, faculty, and community members with life-long opportunities for intellectual, social, and cultural growth. We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the “Western Experience” - an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference.
ABOUT US
Within the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, our team focuses on conducting population health research on chronic disease surveillance and prevention and the links between social determinants of health, health-related modifiable behaviours, environmental factors, and health outcomes at the local, national, and international level. We also aim to conduct studies to better understand the link between climate change and health among Canadians residing in large urban areas.
Responsibilities:
The Research Assistant will apply their expertise and knowledge to this ongoing program of research, under the direction of the Principal Investigators. The incumbent will conduct literature reviews, maintain reference management software, prepare academic manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and assist with writing grant applications. Applicants should have experience conducting systematic literature reviews and have familiarity with population health, social determinants of health, and/or environmental risk factors.
