Description:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAS):
- Familiarity with academic and professional research methodologies.
- Ability to locate and evaluate credible sources, such as articles, case studies, and reports.
- Ability to collaborate with team members to support research projects and initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills for preparing research materials and documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Interdisciplinary research in law, ethics, sustainability and environmental science.
- Experience working in the fields of research, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation of findings.
- Experience with legal research
- Experience in summarizing and presenting research results in clear and organized formats.

Responsibilities:
- Locate relevant articles, blogs, and case studies to be reviewed and utilized by supervisor
- Conduct preliminary research interdisciplinary topics related to Indigenous sustainability and resilience, climate change, environmental justice, and global climate policy
- Organize and compile findings from various sources i.e. find cases, statutes, legislative history and scholarly resources; database or other systems are not required or used (primarily sent through email)
- Provide support to faculty with program coursework related to seminar, including readings and assignments by helping update general information on the syllabus that was previously created for this class (position will not select the materials, nor teach any classes)
- Assist in researching legal cases related to the protection of land, water, air, timber, and wildlife in the Southwest.
- Organize and summarize research findings for team use.
- Prepare literature reviews to support the book project.
- Help draft and organize documents based on initial research findings to then be review by supervisor, whom then identifies relevant content and next steps
