Summary:

- Work closely with global cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, process, and production, ensuring your innovations align with market needs.

Responsibilities Include:
- Executing research projects with minimum guidance
- Independently designing and carrying out experiments in lab environments
- Analyzing, summarizing, and communicating results to cross-functional teams
- Work closely with other senior scientists and engineers.
- Frequent communication with global cross-functional teams, including, marketing, sales, process, and production.
- Direct interfacing with external customers
- Drive new product developments.
- Provide technical support to existing products.
- Carry out hands-on research experiments
- Daily interaction with R&D, frequent interaction with Marketing and Sales team, and external customers
- Completes other duties as assigned
Travel: 10% or less
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- Ph.D. with 2+ years of work experience or M.S. with 5+ years of work experience, majored in chemical engineering, chemistry, or materials science & engineering.
- Experience in plastics processing (film production, extrusion & injection molding, etc.) and testing
- Deep understanding of materials structure-property relationship
- Ability to analyze, summarize, and communicate technical results clearly in technical environment.
- Full awareness of chemical and lab safety
The following are preferred for this role:
- Expertise with plastics processing, including, extrusion, injection molding, especially blown film or casting film processing.
- Expertise in plastic processing aids’ mechanism and performance.
- Knowledge of organic silicone chemistry and materials.
- Proven track records of innovating or commercializing new products.
- Experience with customers or technical services.
- Sound IP awareness (e.g., patent filing)
- Experience in polymer synthesis and characterization tools, including, GC, GC-MS, NMR, FTIR, DSC, Instron, etc.
- Clear communication of technical contents in non-technical environments.

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, crouch, twist, turn, lift, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Reaching, feeling, finger movement, grasping, hearing, sight, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Regularly lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. The ability to wear personal protective equipment, and the ability to pass a fit test and wear a respirator is required for most positions.

What We Offer:
Base Pay Range: $101,500 - $148,500
The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable.
