- 3 to 5 years experience in a quality control food manufacturing setting
- Post secondary in a food safety/ quality related program.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong oral and written communication in French and English
- Ability to partner with all levels of production from Operators to Supervisors
- Willing to travel routinely between Longueuil QC and Amherst NS. Travel to Amherst location minimum 1x per month.
- Flexible and willing to work overtime where required (in busy season
Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW :
The Quality Leader - Distribution plays a crucial role in ensuring that all food safety and quality standards are met across distribution centers. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining Food Safety & Quality programs, conducting thorough inspections, and supporting continuous improvement efforts to uphold the highest standards.
YOUR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Supports the Distribution Center Teams in the implementation and execution of Food Safety & Quality programs.
- Conducts GMP walkthrough & report any/all findings. Investigate RCA & Implement CAPA after reviewing with the site leader.
- Support the Development of Food Safety and Quality training and conducts training on food safety and quality requirements for all team members
- Examines incoming raw materials, process and finished products to make sure they comply with quality and food safety standards.
- Verifies packaging operation to ensure correct packaging, labelling, production codes, and best before marking.
- Conducts sampling of the environment and equipment, water, raw materials and finished products for microbiological and/ or analytical testing / sensory evaluation
- Hold of product or ingredient control and dispositions.
- Assists with the maintenance of all HACCP programs
- Participate & Support in all internal/ third party/ CFIA and/or FDA audits.
- Identify, report non-conformance for any out of compliance situation or food safety incidents. Support Quality Team with RCA & CAPA implementation for finished products.
- Completes inspections for glass and brittle plastics, pest control, and overall plant food safety
- Coordinate and support Consumer complaint investigations.
- Review documentation (internal and external) and follow-up on necessary actions. Maintain records in an organized manner
- Reports and logs analytical test results and ensure compliance to WB and/or customer specifications
- Completes shift reports and audit sheets as required
- Performs certificate of analysis reviews and data entry and filing.
- Issues Non Conformance reporting for incoming ingredient or packaging deviations.
- Issues complaints relating to incoming finished products
