What you’ll be doing:
In recent years, the People’s Partnership has embarked on an ambitious and exciting growth strategy which has led to a significant transformation of the business. You will provide insight and challenge to ensure business leaders develop, agree, and deliver on these ambitious, strategically aligned and risk disciplined plans.

The role will be a business partner to a specific department, working with them as a trusted advisor and critical thinking partner, to ensure risks are identified, understood and controlled appropriately to support good customer outcomes and attainment of strategic goals. It will also support the central Risk team in understanding and aggregating risk exposures across the Group.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, collaborating closely with the department and its leadership team, being a critical thinking partner to them and supporting their decision-making processes
  • Collaborate with leadership team in the ownership and creation of risk assessments including scenario analysis
  • Collaborate with leadership team in the ownership and creation of risk remediation plans
  • Monitor risk exposure against appetite, identifying variances and providing recommendations for optimisation
  • Support the central Risk team in creating board packs and ad hoc MI to drive business understanding

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a first- or second-line risk role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft applications and GRC systems)
  • A team player who can collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to achieve objectives
  • Experience of challenging and changing the business
  • Organised and able to work with a matrixed team and shared resources to organise the teams’ workload
