REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business with a major in accounting or finance.
- 3-4 years of experience working in full-cycle accounting positions
- Experience preparing journal entries including intercompany and month-end accrual entries
- Day-to-day involvement in the preparation of recurring financial statements
- Experience using common forms of accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, Great Plains, etc.)
- Experience working with CCPCs, private client files, startups, or small businesses as part of a small team
- Confident and capable within Excel or Google Sheets with experience using Lookups, Sumifs, and Pivot Tables
- Detail-oriented, producing work products within Excel that are virtually error-free
- Eager to work in a rewarding and ambitious fast-paced startup environment with tight deadlines
- Dynamic personality who is comfortable with changing environments to support a growing organization
- Superior organization skills, can manage competing priorities, and cool under pressure
- Proactive self-starter, able to make assumptions and drive results independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, driven to produce quality work, and enthusiastic about continuous learning in a fast-paced environment. This position involves the preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements, journal entry booking, intercompany transactions, and payroll and benefits administration. The Senior Accountant will actively engage and collaborate with all levels of the organization, including Senior Management, and will report to the Accounting Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Journalizing day-to-day transactions across a global reporting structure
- Actively collaborate with members of the finance team (Accounting, FP&A, Tax) and participate in cross-functional processes in a remote working environment
- Preparation of monthly consolidated and standalone financial statements to support business decisions in different departments
- Responsible for accurately administering payroll and benefits in the US & Canada including year-end return filing
- Responsible for the completeness of monthly expenses ensuring invoices are properly booked or accrued for
- Maintaining an accurate monthly reconciliation of intercompany accounts and communicating variances to management
- Calculation of inputs in support of year-end tax filing
- Maintain a flexible schedule while working from home as required for an online workforce with individuals working from across the globe
- Preparation of ad hoc reporting to support business initiatives as requested by management
