Description:

Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is in search of a Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry located in Visalia, California. This role is integral to our finance department and will involve overseeing financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and monitoring loan and account statuses.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the accounts receivable and payable processes.
  • Creating and maintaining construction schedules, including the schedule of values, WIP reports, and job budgets.
  • Ensuring tax and insurance records are current and filing tax reports on schedule.
  • Managing payroll processes, including payroll taxes and garnishments.
  • Keeping track of the status of loans and accounts to ensure timely payments.
  • Recording and summarizing numerical and financial data to maintain financial records using computer software.
  • Reconciling multiple bank statements.
  • Utilizing Sage 100 Contractor for various accounting tasks.
  • Completing and submitting tax forms, returns, workers’ compensation forms, and other government documents.
  • Performing general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, handling routine correspondence, and sorting daily mail.
  • Undertaking human resource responsibilities as needed.
  • Managing fixed assets and utilizing Microsoft Excel and Word for various tasks.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar position
  • Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger and journal entries
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Experience with month-end close procedures
  • Familiarity with Sage 100 software is desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction/contractor industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
