Description:

Position Summary:
The Senior Agile Program Manager will project manage cross-functional projects following agile methodologies for Technology Credit Union (Tech CU). The incumbent will use extensive experience developing product backlogs, project schedules, removing impediments, negotiating contracts and managing change. While working with stakeholders at all levels the incumbent will ensure project goals align to Tech CU’s organizational strategy and deliverables fall within the applicable scope, on time and within budget while delivering optimal business value. The incumbent will tie data trends to business performance, draw actionable insights based on the needs of complex business problems, and interact daily with stakeholders from several teams, including: information technology, marketing, legal, operations, retail and the contact center. Responsibilities:

EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years project management experience.
  • 3+ years program management experience.
  • 3+ years in software development as a developer, team lead, and/or team manager.
  • Experience working with outside consultants on complex UI/UX issues.
  • Familiar with change management methodologies such as ADKAR (awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, reinforcement) and the Kotter method to create a comprehensive program communication plan.
  • Familiar with process improvement methodologies such as six sigma, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) and value stream mapping to facilitate project team analyzes of business processes and recommended solutions. This includes conducting process mapping sessions and creating process flows.
  • Prior contract negotiations experience is required.
  • Lean Agile experience is required.
  • Extensive experience in developing product backlogs, project schedules, removing impediments, negotiating contracts and managing changes.
  • Prior experience with managing programs for financial institutions is preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, and budget as large as $5 million dollars in budgetary size and scope.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to align program objectives to the companies’ strategic objectives as set forth by executive management.
  • Familiarity with financial institution software solutions, business processes and requirements.
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning capabilities, and ability to handle multiple projects, tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated record of establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and facilitation skills including the ability to present to all levels of the organization, external vendors and business partners.
  • Self-motivated, creative and committed to the work at hand.
  • Knowledge and expertise in program management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting to senior management.
  • Strong capability of tying data trends to business performance and drawing actionable insights.
  • A dedicated program manager who enjoys creating innovative solutions.
    Equipment Used: Routinely uses standard office equipment, including computer, phone, copier and other devices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Typical office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing.
  • Ability to sit ~85% of the day.
  • Ability to keyboard and read computer screen for ~65% of the time during which one is seated.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week with some weeks requiring extra hours, including weekends and evenings, to complete projects (if required)

Responsibilities:

  • Manages programs & projects based on assignment from the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Guides the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight members.
  • Oversees the delivery of Business Value and Product Quality to ensure that the product increments created are “fit for purpose’.
  • Assesses the scrum maturity of the team and organization and coaches the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Provides support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.
  • Works closely with product owners and/or stakeholders to prioritize features for the team so that the team delivers user stories at a consistent pace.
  • Participates in backlog grooming as needed.
  • Develops relevant metrics such as burn down charts that help the team see how they are progressing and provide management insight regarding the performance of the team.
  • Facilitates daily standups, sprint planning and sprint retrospectives.
  • Creates documentation throughout all steps of the project life-cycle such as project plans, product roadmaps, release plans, work breakdown structures, roles & responsibilities, procurement management plan, cost baseline, schedule baseline & critical path, risk assessments & mitigation plans.
  • Conducts stakeholder engagement assessments and manages stakeholder expectations in order to ensure all expectations are established and successfully met throughout the project.
  • Manages the Request for Proposal (RFP) process from beginning to end, including the scope definition, vendor screening, developing of RFP document, source selection criteria, contract negotiations and execution of contractual agreements.
  • Creates and successfully manages cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
  • Works closely with Information Technology staff to manage the development of a technical solution design, enterprise architecture and technical specifications.
  • Conducts regular presentations with the Executive Sponsors and project teams regarding progress.
  • Completes special projects upon request.
