Description:

As the Senior Analyst - IT Security you will be responsible for delivering second-level operational and technical support for security solutions related to firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanning, security monitoring tools, authentication, identity management and access control systems. You will execute threat management, vulnerability management, and breach management processes to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from security incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology preferred.
  • Security focused certificate (CISSP, SSCP, CISM, etc.) required.
  • IT security experience with a large (1,000+ employee) organization. 3 years required, 5 years preferred.
  • Network and system administration. 3 years required.
  • Wide range of computer systems and security tools experience. 3 years required, 5 years preferred.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and multi-tasking, plus ability to work in a fast paced atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates on critical IT projects to ensure security issues are addressed throughout project life cycle.
  • Monitors computer data network system, including LAN and WAN, firewall and anti-spam data security infrastructure and recommends mitigation actions.
  • Evaluates security events and coordinates remediation activities with less experienced security staff and technical support center concerning virus, spam, and any other security related items.
  • Participates in and supports incident response activities for any security breaches.
  • Plays an advisory role to WESCO’s IT department and members of information security team to identify, select, and implement technical controls.
  • Assists in development of IT security policies and procedures and associated awareness training.
  • Works with security vendors to evaluate new security tools that align with business objectives and overall IT security program.
  • Performs regular penetration testing both internally and with support of external vendors.
  • Makes recommendations and helps drive remediation activities based on findings of testing.
  • Works with less experienced staff on deploying, tuning and running vulnerability-scanning and penetration-testing tools.
