QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Essential Qualification: Bachelors in Applied Science. Database administration skills in Oracle & MS SQL Server. Basic knowledge of Unix.
• Desirable Qualification: Degree with Experience in software development
• Work Experience:10+ years of experience as a database administrator with experience in DBA and prior exposure of work on Oracle and MS SQLServer

1. Create and manage multiple databases using various database technologies such Oracle & MS SQL Server, and
   other technologies that are deemed necessary to meet business requirements.
2. Manage Production, DR, QA and development database environments.
3. Monitor and maintain stability, security, growth and performance of all database systems and troubleshoot
   problems that may arise.
4. Resolve problems in database bottleneck areas with approaches to wait event tuning, session blocking, SQL and
   index tuning, and SQL Profiles.
5. Maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users).
6. Develop strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replication.
7. Test, validate and implement performance and resource optimization improvements in consultation with
   application support teams.
8. Use tools like SQL Profiler for database tuning. Generate traces, execution plans, identify performance issues,
   deadlocks/contention and resolve them.
9. Perform proactive housekeeping/archiving and shrinking of databases
10. Oversee, conduct, and direct disaster recovery tests to ensure functionality of the environment.
11. Complete all tasks assigned by line manager.

12. Ensure compliance to IT policy in terms of implementation and monitoring of information security management in
    your department in line with the UAE region ISR policy.
