We wouldn’t be at the cutting-edge of online sports gambling without a talented technology team and our Retail Team, based in Leeds are responsible for all aspects of William Hill’s in store technology, with a particular focus on integrating the online experience for our customers into our 1400+ retail shops in the UK..
Using your previous experience as a Java Developer, your role is to keep our colleagues and customers connected, updating our existing platform and systems while ensuring our customers have cutting edge technology at their fingertips.
We’re adopting AWS at scale, and at the same time releasing high volume system upgrades into around 1400 shops across the UK. So, from the Cloud to tangible technology on the ground, we’re proud to say that we’re covering it all.
As a Full Stack Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that we deliver value to our colleagues and customers while maintaining best practice, coding standard and, improving the team.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are committed to responsible gambling, and we are looking for people who can support our ethos. To apply to this post, you will have:

• Experienced as a Java Dev with a JavaScript/Typescript language ideally React/Node
• Experience with working in Scrum/Kanban framework and knowledge of AWS technologies would be a great advantage
• Broad knowledge of web software development related topics with working knowledge of best engineering practices (SOLID) with experience working in multi-team environment with multiple dependencies

• Knowledge of technologies we’re working with would also be an advantage, here’s some of them;

  Docker, REST API, Linux, Bash, Python, Puppet, New Relic, Terraform

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Implementation and documentation of solutions in collaboration with Developers, Testers and Solution Architects
• Responsibility for the integrity of the software, ensuring technical debt is managed effectively in collaboration with Site Reliability teams
• Support turning guardrails into best practices and standards, and ensure adherence
• Collaborating on non-technical and technical requirements with Product Owners
• Collaborating on delivery with Delivery Managers
• Pair Programming and/or Reviewing code and providing constructive feedback
• Collaborating with QA to ensure tests are aligned with the solution and complement tests written by development and offering support for CI & release pipeline being set up for all applications delivered.
