Senior HR Specialist Germany and Switzerland
Location: Frankfurt
Preferred start date: September 2024
Full-Time / Hybrid working model (2 days in the office / 3 days working from home)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR Specialist to join us in our Frankfurt office on a permanent basis. This is a role in which you will be responsible for providing full HR support across two offices with a strong focus on flawless execution, efficiency, and in compliance with local regulations.
You will handle a varied workload, especially in relation to HR compliance, payroll & benefits, vendor management, answering day to day queries from employees and managers, dealing with a diverse array of HR initiatives and getting involved with employee relations issues. You will also drive local strategic HR initiatives and bring in your own ideas and creativity.
You act as a go to person for all HR matters and you are recognised as a knowledgeable trusted advisor to all of our employees.

About the team
You will be complimenting of our small and strong HR team in Frankfurt, working closely with our Senior HR Manager and Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist. You will also closely collaborate with the other EMEA HR functions across the region such as Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Development and Shared Services. Our EMEA HR team consists of over 30 dedicated professionals based in Brussels, Paris, Dublin, London, Sheffield, Dubai and Johannesburg. We work closely together in a dynamic and engaging way to support the Firm across all HR needs.
About the role

Key responsibilities include:

  • You help deliver a great employee experience – you effectively partner with the Talent Acquisition and HR Shared Services teams to ensure smooth and consistent onboarding of new employees,

– you are responsible for the “Day One Compliance” – you act as the first line of support for HR queries ensuring a timely response and escalating matters to the Senior HR Manager where required

  • You contribute with your profound HR expertise and closely monitor changes in employment legislation in Germany and the Switzerland to ensure compliance in processes and policies and you act as a knowledgeable trusted advisor on those topics.
  • You take responsibility that our HR systems are updated on a regular basis.
  • You ensure the flawless processing of the monthly payroll for the Frankfurt and Zurich offices (for over 130 employees), ensuring accurate, compliant, and prompt action is taken.
  • You administer and review the benefits package for Germany and Switzerland in close collaboration with the Total Rewards team.
  • You are the main point of contact for our HR vendors (payroll, bike leasing, fitness, insurances, pension provider, etc.)
  • You actively contribute to improving existing HR policies and create new ones in compliance with local regulations.
  • You are our health & safety champion. As such, you liaise quarterly with our company doctor and with the health & safety providers on prevention matters and organize regular (mental) health activities.
  • You lead initiatives around diversity, well-being, etc. and you partner with Talent Development and the business on training activities.

About you
You are business fluent in German and English. Other European languages would be an asset.
You have at least a bachelor’s degree in HR or other related fields of study, as well as 5+ years of relevant HR experience, preferably in an international and fast-paced environment.
It is essential that you have experience in German payroll and in working with HR policies. Having experience in Swiss payroll would be an asset but is not essential, as long as you are interested in developing in this area. You have working knowledge of German labour legislation, regulations, and local benefits programmes.
You have a great eye for detail, and you provide high-levels of accuracy in all work – you easily spot errors and resolve them. You are a conscientious individual who enjoys implementing strategies and polishing and perfecting tasks. You are highly organized and know how to prioritize your workload.
You thrive working in a team and have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills – being able to interact effectively and build trusted relationships with internal clients, external stakeholders, and international colleagues on all levels of the organisation and across departments.
You must be comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information. You also like working independently and are committed to getting the work done. In turn, you will be entrusted with responsibilities and encouraged to implement new ideas and think creatively. Your opinion will be valued.
