POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Vice President, Controller, the Senior Manager, Global Payroll is an exciting opportunity for a leader with a growth mindset who thrives in a fast-paced, global organization. The Senior Manager will lead the design and development of a world-class payroll function. They should be a dynamic leader with a proven track record and knowledge of global payroll best practices and strategies.
The scope of this role includes managing a team of individual contributors, overseeing end-to-end payroll processes, and owning projects for Global Payroll activities, including compliance and regulatory reporting.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar fields is required. Relevant and equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years of experience in global payroll, including EMEA, APAC, and North America.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team.

SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and HRIS software such as ADP Workforce Now and UKG.
  • Excellent understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements in various countries.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information and keep payroll and other employee personal information confidential.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with an excellent service mindset.
  • Results-oriented with a strong work ethic and integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all global employees, including multi-state exempt and non-exempt bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and out-of-cycle payroll.
  • Review and manage payroll systems that support multiple countries.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international payroll regulations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of individual contributors for the payroll department.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll operations.
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the HR team for payroll-related matters such as new hires, terminations, change of status, and benefits.
  • Partner with other departments to facilitate timely processing of employees including verifying the accuracy of overtime hours, paid time off, and leaves of absence.
  • Maintain and optimize HRIS systems to gain efficiencies through better automation and integrations.
  • Prepare, review, and circulate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and create ad-hoc reports in HRIS as needed.
  • Reviews, reconciles, and distributes annual W-2s and other regulatory reports.
  • Coordinate and manage any audits related to payroll.
  • Manage, resolve, and respond to all payroll-related inquiries and issues with urgency.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and payroll-related cash and accrual journal entries.
  • Reconcile all payroll and benefits-related accounts to source data (PTO/FTO, FSA, HSA, 40lK, etc.).
  • Stay current on new legislation impacting payroll and recommend changes to processes, controls, and systems needed to comply.
  • Oversee outsourced payroll providers for international payroll (APAC, EMEA, etc.).
  • Assist with employee expense reimbursement using Expensify.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
