4. EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the sports medical field, including 4 years of experience in leadership/management within Olympic sport institutes, professional clubs, or national teams.
  • Experience and insights concerning the area of medical support services for elite athletes
  • Experience in managing diverse stakeholder groups within the system
  • Demonstrated ability to have open and honest conversations, delivering balanced feedback and critical messages whilst maintaining relationships
  • Experience understanding individual personal styles and developing influence strategies that appeal to the different styles within a team to get results
  • Ability to effectively leverage and apply expertise from relevant support services to ensure success
  • Knowledge and understanding of the structure and dynamics of international sports systems
  • Understanding of athlete development and performance pathways/drivers across a range of sport

6. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of bachelor’s or master’s degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Other relevant postgraduate degree preferred.
  • Registered with physiotherapy national governing agency.

Responsibilities:

1. ROLE DETAILS

  • Position title: Senior Manager, Performance Therapies
  • Reports to: Director of High Performance Services
  • Direct Reports: Lead Performance Physiotherapist Physiologist, Psychologist
  • Department: Performance Services
  • External Relationships: SOPC, National Federations, Private service contractors

2. ROLE PURPOSE

  • Provide strategic direction and senior leadership for the coordination of high performance medical services including sport medicine, physiotherapy and manual/soft tissue therapy for athletes with service contracts from the Saudi Olympic Training Centre (SOTC) through training an d competitive events.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development of strategy for sport medicine, physiotherapy and manual/soft-tissue aligned to the needs of SOTC programmes
  • Create, implement and monitor operational policies for sport medicine, physiotherapy and manual/soft-tissue therapies within, and aligned to, the SOTC.
  • Oversee and quality assure related services delivered through external contracts both within and outside of KSA.
  • Lead the recruitment of sport medicine doctors, physiotherapists and manual/soft-tissue therapists.
  • Manage related staff to ensure high quality service provision, staff development and engagement with knowledge dissemination within KSA.
  • Ensure availability and maintenance of relevant facilities and equipment to support high performance service provision in sport science.
  • Oversee sport medicine, physiotherapy and manual soft-tissue therapy planning and staff management for sport missions in international events and training camps.
  • Ensure programmes operate a relevant strategy for athlete monitoring and injury risk reduction in collaboration with other SOTC High Performance
