About the Role
As Senior Manager, Workforce Analytics in our Workforce Strategy & Transformation Team, you’ll play a key role in helping us become trusted advisors and delivery partners to T&C and the business, through a strategy led, data informed, and people enabled approach to workforce strategy and transformation.
As owner and lead of the workforce analytics discipline, this senior role will be responsible for helping lead the development of ANZ’s workforce analytics processes, systems and people and overseeing the professional development of members of the programmatic workforce analytics team. This position is required to drive continuous improvement and capability in workforce analytics (as well as in efficient reporting delivery, working closely with the Reporting Delivery Lead as required).
Beyond the ownership and development of the specialist discipline, the role will have oversight to ensure appropriate application of the discipline for quality outcomes, whilst supporting the Head of Workforce Strategy & Analytics to prioritise, resourcing allocation and decision making as it relates to delivery and value creation in the business.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE WILL HAVE MULTI-HORIZON OBJECTIVES:

The first horizon (immediate) is to ensure the continued timely and quality production of our core reporting and insights to the Board, Executive Committee, Business Managers, People Leaders, and T&C Product Owners (whilst working on the efficiency of our delivery, including exploiting more automation);
The second horizon will be to realise the benefit of our shift to cloud based workforce analytics;
The third horizon will be to shape and mature our approach to workforce analytics, including the use of more diagnostic analysis, complex problem-solving, and utilising advanced analytics for more high value business outcomes.

What will your day look like?

THIS ROLE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Being a lead in the design and build of the strategic road map for workforce and people analytics excellence at ANZ;
  • Ensuring the development of the organisational play book for programmatic workforce analytics;
  • Scoping and acting as an SME and providing oversight for select major programs and projects across the capability as required;
  • Ensuring T&C’s data strategy (including data elements and systems) is modern and appropriate for workforce analytics outcomes and is designed and maintained to create sustainable value while being aligned with enterprise requirements (and being a critical collaborator with the T&C Systems team, Tech Division, T&C BPs and T&C leaders, and employing a user centred approach);
  • Playing a key role in lifting standards of data literacy and data informed decision making across T&C;
  • Monitoring adherence to the standards within area of expertise and ensuring alignment with Workforce Strategy, Workforce Strategy Delivery, Reporting Delivery and other WS&T Strategic Capabilities (Workforce Implementation, Organisation Strategy & Design);
  • Supporting the Head of Workforce Strategy & Analytics in working with WS&T Portfolio Owners, other W&ST LT and wider T&C to understand and plan for workforce capability needs, current and future;
  • Owning and managing the service proposition for Programmatic Analytics;
  • Supporting management of the total capability pool available to deliver projects including leveraging individuals in Workforce Strategy & Analytics, wider WS&T and external 3rd parties (including defining the way of working, governance and escalations on projects involving Programmatic Analytics with consultancies);
  • Responsible for the personal development, performance reviews and capability uplift of direct reports;
  • Coaching and development planning on expertise and personal development by promoting an ‘always learning’ culture;
  • Recognises and develops top-talent and proactively manages performance;
  • Supporting the Head of Workforce Strategy & Analytics with input into functional governance, including prioritising resource allocation and decision making as it relates to programmatic analytics.
    What will you bring?
    To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
    Must have proven experience in data science or data engineering (ideally in T&C);
    Data science or data engineering degree that is relevant to this role;
    Deep and extensive expertise in your specialist discipline and a proven ability to innovate and stay up to date;
    Ability to actively connect outside and inside ANZ to leverage latest thinking, providing practical/relevant ideas, improvements and fit-for-purpose solutions
    Ability to apply expertise in novel and ambiguous contexts to solve large, adaptive challenges;
    Ability to work in a dynamic, agile and sometimes ambiguous environment;
    Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders, creating a shared purpose that brings people together to deliver outstanding outcomes aligned to a mission;

    Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
