Job Title: Senior Mission Systems Engineer (Onboard Computing)

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Essential
- Demonstrated Systems Engineering or equivalent training, typically experienced in applying subject or discipline knowledge in platform level mission systems / safety and / or security integration related activities
- Good communications skills – personal, written and IT based. Able to build strong and trusting relationships
- UK SC/DV clearance without caveats (or willingness to be put forward for these levels of clearance), and holds UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience in engineering technologies/disciplines: Cyber Security, Crypto & Key management, Aircraft Safety/Security, Model Based Systems Engineering, Computer Networking Technologies, Complex Electronic Hardware, Aircraft Software.
- Experience of working with cross-system, international engineering teams
- Trained to degree level in a STEM discipline or HND/HNC with experience of the Engineering Lifecycle. Formal training can be substituted with direct experience of working in mission systems management, avionic, systems integration, safety/security or equivalent programmes that demonstrates a keenness to learn and apply experience in work related situations
Responsibilities:
- Support the overall system design for projects, and lead various activities as part of the team responsible for developing architectures and computing hardware and software design solutions
- Interface into other parts of the national and international organisation as a recognised holder of a wide range of knowledge in specialised areas of interest, including Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), cryptography, secure computer networking as well as managing and developing less experienced members of the team
- Working with International (Japan and Italy) partners to establish clear proposals, functional and physical architectures, requirements and system design solutions
- Work with UK national partners to develop UK technologies and capability in the field of secure computing
- Manage a small team of engineers and hold responsibility for your team deliverables
