The Sr. Product Manager leads a team responsible for setting the global product strategy for the Routine FTIR Spectroscopy instrument and software portfolio within the Vibrational Spectroscopy Business Unit in the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. FTIR Spectroscopy instruments are utilized for a wide variety of applications including pharmaceutical and industrial QA/QC, contaminant analysis, forensic investigation of toxicological substances and trace materials and industrial chemical/polymer analysis. The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for investigating and pursuing attractive new market opportunities through engagement with customers and commercial teams globally to position the product line for growth. A key aspect of the role will be to develop unique customer solutions through differentiated products and workflows which meet the needs of a diverse customer base. The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for managing the life-cycle of a portfolio of new and on-market products while acting as the liaison between Sales, Market Development, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Technical/Customer Support and Supply Chain. This is a cross-functional role that requires balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders especially within operations, sales, and R&D. The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for developing the routine portfolio from concept to commercialization including market analysis, product definition, positioning and pricing. The Sr. Product Manager has a global customer mindset and develops winning product strategies to stay ahead of competitors.
