Job Description
- Lead and manage the project and client’s expectations taking account of the scope, budget and schedule, considering priorities of projects, monitoring, and controlling the delivery
- Risk management, identifying any project risks, actively assigning and managing mitigations as appropriate.
- Engaging with, influencing, and managing communications at an operational level with the project team, and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring project delivery is in line with the cost, time and quality objectives of the Client and the organisation.
- Understanding and experience on multiple procurement routes for development projects.
- Understanding and strong knowledge of contractual and commercial principles, variations and EOTs.
- Initiate and manage weekly technical and progress meetings relating to the services and works.
- Prepare and submit reports on project progress measured against the baseline and milestone dates and agreed objectives/KPIs.
- Prepare weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports on project progress for the Employer’s representative, present as required.
- Manage design stage deliverables against the scope and progress. Coordinate with procurement strategy and permitting/approvals requirements.
- Manage any client stage gateway reviews and attainment of conditions precedent to such approvals.
- Reporting the commercial status of projects following company methods.
- Manage issuance of company invoices and receipts against the contract.
- Team management resources management, management of related commercial interface. Understanding the factors affecting the motivation of project team members.
- Effectively interacts with senior-level clients and serves as an escalation point for issues and communication to Client senior management;
- Anticipate risks and obstacles, and address them with the team in a proactive manner;
- Demonstrate a strong design background (preferably in architecture).
- Developing a detailed design program with all relevant parties to satisfy design, procurement, and construction requirements. Manage the program and deliverables throughout the project.
- Reviewing and commenting on the design for completeness, buildability, potential quality issues, potential lead time problems, scope packaging and other similar issues in conjunction with the project team.
- Chairing co-ordination meetings with the internal design team and sub consultants and third parties during design development.
- Chairing / attending regular internal design meetings at which all new drawings, design team and sub-contractors, are reviewed and marked up with members of the project team. Actioning comments generated at internal design meetings including list of instructions for sub-contractors.
- Ensuring the design is compliant with statutory requirements and applicable standards.
- Manage design stage deliverables against the scope and progress. Coordinate with procurement strategy and permitting / approvals requirements.
Qualifications
Senior Project Manager for a lead design consultancy, min 15y of postgraduate experience in leading large-scale development projects. Architectural or Civil Engineering background.
Desirable to have Leed, PMP, RIBA, and/or similar equivalent certification
