OVERVIEW

We are seeking expressions of interest from candidates seeking to teach pre-university and/or university-level courses in areas including Agricultural & Food Sciences; Arts; Business; Engineering; Environment, Earth, & Resources; Recreation Management & Community Development; or Science. ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree, PhD Candidate, or PhD in relevant field
  • Professional experience in a relevant discipline area
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the delivery of classes within a post-secondary teaching environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and meet agreed outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English languageEmpathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or certificate in the professional practice of teaching and learning
  • Exposure to the academic needs and requirements of international students
  • Experience in a multicultural environment
Responsibilities
  • Preparing and presenting lessons, tutorials, and workshops in an English-only format
  • Maintaining regular office hours
  • Constructing and marking appropriate assessment instruments (test, assignments, projects, examinations)
  • Providing constructive feedback to students
  • Invigilating the midterm and final exams
  • Recommending a final grade for the course
  • Completing an end-of-term report
  • Adhering to course moderation requirements inclusive of liaising with the Course Coordinator
