Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity? We are looking for a self motivated and driven individual to help deliver teaching on prescribing for medical students at the University of Southampton.
You will be involved in teaching the medical students through years 1 to 5 at both the Highfield campus and UHS.
It is essential that you have experience in teaching, this role is not suitable for anyone without experience.
You will work closely with the lead for prescribing in delivering the material in person and via teams/zoom sessions
Additionally, demonstrating your capability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders, such as year group leads and other faculty members, will likely be crucial.

Your Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Deliver teaching to medical students across the whole of the undergraduate programme
  • Develop new teaching material on specific clinical areas
  • Be actively involved in the marking of exam papers throughout the academic year
  • Attend meetings with year group leads
  • Revise material that has already been prepared
  • Provide a clinical service to a specialist clinical area
  • Write exam questions (undergraduate & PSA)
  • Get involved with the OSCE’s

We are looking for

  • A pharmacist
  • Proven record of teaching, you may need to deliver teaching to large groups (approx. 250 students) and smaller groups (e.g. 20-40)
  • A dynamic, self-driven and motivated individual
  • Flexibility
  • Contribution to the education and training of other AHP teaching sessions
  • Able to structure your own working week whilst ensuring the delivery of the core material
  • Willingness to learn

There is sufficient opportunity within this role to develop your own style of teaching and also network with other facilitators across the Wessex deanery. This will provide you with lots of opportunities to work on your RPS portfolio
