Job Description:
As a Senior Analyst in the Finance team, you will play a key role in developing Poshmark’s strategic and financial planning function to support the growth of the Company. In addition to driving and supporting financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis efforts, you will have the opportunity to turn these insights into actionable strategic initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with senior management at a rapidly growing startup to drive the direction of the business.
Responsibilities
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis and build sophisticated financial and operating models to solve complex business questions and support executive decision-making.
Data Insights: Perform data-driven analysis to measure, evaluate and execute on growth initiatives and strategic opportunities.
Business Partnership: Drive insights through cross-functional partnership across the organization, including vetting business proposals against internal objectives and business strategy. Understand needs, support initiatives, and provide financial guidance to drive optimal outcomes.
Market & Competitive Intelligence: Comprehend and synthesize industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape providing valuable insights to senior leadership and helping better position the company.
Investment Opportunities: Assess potential internal and external investment opportunities, including product launches, expansion efforts, and M&A.
Reporting & Tracking: Establish KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to monitor business performance. Track progress, identify trends, craft narratives, and proactively recommend adjustments as needed. Prepare and communicate presentations and memos to the Executive team and Board of Directors.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance data accuracy, and optimize resource allocation to drive operational efficiency.
Ad Hoc Projects: Contribute to special projects and initiatives as required, leveraging financial expertise to address business challenges. Perform due diligence to evaluate risks and returns.

6-Month Accomplishments

  • Independently find and deliver financial insights and forecasts in areas of business operations to drive high stakes business decisions
  • Develop full insight and understanding of Poshmark’s operations, key financial trends, business drivers, KPIs and factors influencing the business

12+ Month Accomplishments

  • Partner cross-functionally with teams within the organization to solve business problems, and develop a strong relationship with the stakeholders
  • Present synthesized analysis and insights from short term and long term strategic projects to senior management
  • Proactively identify and drive new initiatives/projects to increase operational efficiencies and support rapid growth

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or similar
  • 2-4 years in investment banking, private equity, VC, corporate development, management consulting and/or finance preferred
  • Exceptional proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, PowerPoint and Google Docs/Sheets/Slides
  • Advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, modeling, valuation, reporting and analysis
  • Ability to collaborate constructively with, and influence, business partners
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense
  • Proactive and inquisitive approach to identifying insights in financial and operating data
  • Entrepreneurial in nature - resourceful with an eye for optimization
  • Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, growing and ambiguous environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills
  • Experience with Looker / SQL - the ability to self-serve, investigate and produce the data we require
  • Experience in or understanding of e-commerce and/or marketplace is a plus

Salary Range:
$92,500.00 - $131,500.00 Annual
