Description:

We are in search of a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our team, located in Houston, Texas, United States. This role revolves around ensuring financial accuracy, reporting, and control within our organization, and requires a deep understanding of accounting principles and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial report analysis, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards and procedures.
  • Manage month-end close processes and accurately record journal entries to reflect all financial transactions.
  • Conduct reconciliations of transactions between various company divisions to maintain balanced accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing valuable insights into financial planning.
  • Support both internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules and ensuring all required documentation is available and accurate.
  • Prepare and review variance reports to compare actual performance against budgeted expectations, analyzing discrepancies and providing explanations.
  • Create reports and manage projects as assigned, addressing specific needs or issues as they arise.
  • Assist in developing policies and internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with standards and enhance financial integrity.
  • Build and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets, utilizing macros and Power Queries to streamline data analysis and reporting.
  • Classify and summarize accounting transactions, applying knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards to ensure proper cost management and reporting.
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s Degree or professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or MBA are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a related financial role.
  • Proficient in Accounting Functions, including maintaining financial records and transactions.
  • Experience in Auditing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and laws.
  • Familiarity with Budget Processes, including planning, developing, implementing, and forecasting budgets.
  • Expertise in Capital Management, including managing a company’s capital structure, financing, and investments.
  • Proven experience in Internal Reporting, creating financial reports for internal use.
  • Knowledge of Cost Variance, including identifying, analyzing, and reporting variances in costs.
  • Proficiency in Variance Analysis, including analyzing financial performance and identifying trends.
  • Experience in Month End Close processes, ensuring all financial data is recorded within the specified time period.
  • Demonstrated skills in Financial Statement Preparation, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Experience in Financial Statement Audits, assessing the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
  • Ability to Analyze Financial Statements, including interpreting financial data and performance.
  • Proficiency in Account Analysis, including reviewing and validating account entries.
  • Experience with Commissions, including calculating and managing commission structures and payments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
