    Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is looking for a passionate, innovative, results oriented Senior Technical Program Manager for the AWS Security Secure All The Things (SAT2) team. AWS Security is responsible for driving innovative enhancements that raise the bar for how AWS employees interact with resources, systems, and data. This team dives deep into security technologies such as new authentication systems, hardware security components, cryptography, system hardening, and massive-scale audit analysis. The objective of this program is to define the innovative preventative, detective and monitoring mechanisms to enable security at scale.
The successful candidate is one who loves working directly with software developers to understand their needs, and with security engineers to design security systems and solutions that enable developers to operate more effectively, securely and safely. We have a team culture that encourages innovation and we expect team members and management alike to take high degree of ownership for their program vision and execution of ideas. You will have the opportunity to engage with systems that are at the cutting edge of technology. You will work directly with AWS service teams, infrastructure, and administrative teams to identify opportunities to improve AWS’ security posture. You will build tooling, drive process improvements, and work with service owners and cutting edge technology to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
You prioritize well, communicate clearly, and demonstrate a consistent track record of delivery. You are proactive in removing roadblocks, pave the way for innovation, and can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be a positive influencer across diverse teams, be able to effectively rally support for your initiatives, and be able to help deeply technical teams create simple solutions to meet your program goals. You are able to handle business escalations with a data-driven approach to build trust with engineers and Senior Leaders.
    Inclusive Team Culture
Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon’s culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.
    Mentorship & Career Growth
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring. We care about your career growth as a passionate learner that is motivated to take on challenges.
    Work/Life Balance
Our team also puts a high value on work-life balance. Striking a healthy balance between your personal and professional life is crucial to your happiness and success here, which is why we aren’t focused on how many hours you spend at work or online. Instead, we’re happy to offer a flexible schedule so you can have a more productive and well balanced life—both in and outside of work.
    Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will own the strategy and successful tactical delivery of one or more security expectation programs. You will engage with teams across AWS to initiate refinement and deployment of security solutions, identify anomaly use cases, make tradeoff decisions, develop and drive project schedules, remove blockers, establish mechanisms and metrics to drive and track adoption, and deliver results.
You must be comfortable developing and driving high-level strategic initiatives, leading matrixed teams across the globe and developing other leaders, possess the ability to facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot technical issues and adapt solutions for anomaly use cases, and remove barriers to project success. You will establish trust with a variety of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage escalations, eliminate non-value-add activity, and find creative ways to accelerate program execution, while continuously looking for ways to reduce impact on service teams.
The ideal candidate will embrace and inspire innovation, exercise strong judgment and negotiation skills, possess the ability to influence without authority, thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
If you meet these qualifications, exude passion, and enjoy the challenges of deploying highly technical and innovative programs at massive scale, this job is for you!
    A day in the life
As a TPM in AWS Security you will be responsible for a set of long term security outcomes. No day will be the same as the days preceding or following, rather every day will present exciting new challenges and opportunities to lead others through ambiguity in pursuit of ambitious goals.
