Description:

DESCRIPTION

Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Surgical Services Operations, the Sterile Processing Technician II cleans, sterilizes, assembles and issues equipment, supplies and instruments according to prescribed procedures and techniques.
Is authorized to access medication storage areas for the purpose of stocking supplies and equipment that may also be housed in the medication storage area, as well as stocking intravenous fluids and irrigation solutions but may not touch or otherwise handle drugs or biological agents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association within 1 year of hire or
  • National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution within 1 year of hire.
  • 400 hours of Sterile Processing Experience.
