DESCRIPTION:

The Student Financial Services Clerk will:

  • To ensure that the Ontario Student Assistance Program is administered at King’s University College within the policies and procedures as outlined by the Federal and Provincial Governments.
  • Responsible for keeping files current and maintaining an organized filing system of all student transactions while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Assist in the administration, reconciliation and reporting for all A/R accounts.
  • Disburses petty cash and processes various forms of payments at counter.
  • Makes collection calls by telephone ensuring calls are handled professionally and tactfully. Continue to follow-up until the account is collected or transferred to a collection agency.
  • Assist with presentations to students and parents related to general budgeting, and funding for post-secondary education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College diploma in Finance/Accounting or related experience required.
  • 1-2 year previous work experience in related position
  • Prior experience with the Canada Student Loan Program and Ontario/Provincial Student loan Program and the policies involved with administering them would be an asset.
  • Experience with A/R collection and/or accounting would be beneficial
  • Must have the abilities to effectively communicate with both internal and external parties
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office products and database applications is required
  • High level of organizational skills required.
  • Ability to work and think quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment.
