Description Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara is seeking seasonal full-time facilitators for our Elementary Summer Camp at our Goleta Valley Center. Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We offer girls a safe, fun, all-girl/pro-girl environment where they gain and practice skills that equip and empower them to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Through evidence-based programs, led by trained mentoring professionals, Girls Inc. girls learn to be confident and embrace positive decision-making to take charge of their health and well-being, and achieve academic, personal, and career goals. Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara endeavors to foster an organizational culture that reflects the virtues of strong, smart, and bold through our core values of empowerment, inclusivity, respect, professionalism, and gender justice. · Summer Camp Operates June 15th – August 7th · Monday- Friday, Seasonal Position · Tentative Shifts: 7:30am-3:30pm or 10:00am-5:30pm · Mandatory Staff Training - Monday June 8th – Thursday, June 11th 9:00am – 4:00pm (in person) Requirements · At least 1 year of hands-on experience working with youth in a educational setting. · 12 college level units in early childhood education or related fields such as Sociology, Psychology, Art, Music, Dance, Drama, or Recreation. · Ability to pass criminal background check. · Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening · Vaccinations as required by California law for licensed childcare facilities (TB, Pertussis and Measles immunization. (Flu vaccine recommended, but optional). · Strong communication skills and ability and desire to work as a team member of a diverse and dynamic team
Responsibilities
Facilitate evidence-based programs for elementary-aged girls to empower them to overcome social and gender barriers. Lead activities that promote confidence, positive decision-making, and overall well-being in a safe environment.
