QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read manufacturing drawings.
Effective communication skills (verbal, presentation, data organization) in English and French.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and other improvement tools and methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team through a root cause analysis/problem-solving process.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities to meet established deadlines.
Demonstrated record in driving continuous improvement.
Strong leadership, influence/interpersonal and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or diploma in a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 3+ years of supervision/management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental Management.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  • Production Management
  • Employee supervision
  • Sequences the daily product workflow to meet customers’ needs.
  • Supports and mentors employees’ work & effectiveness.
  • Ensures quality best practice application.
  • Maintains awareness & supervision of safety issues.
  • Guides and advises team leaders in interpretation of plant and company policies.
  • Ensures the integration of new employees.
  • Ensures back-up training for all positions but principally for key positions.
  • Leadership & Results Management
  • Focuses on key performance results achievement.
  • Elaborates targets in correlation with plant standards.
  • Determines workforce requirements to meet production schedules.
  • Maintains high level of customer awareness throughout the business units and focuses on delivering material that meets requirements.
  • Identifies and implements dedicated team leaders, supports groups & back-up plans.
  • Ensures proper and effective communication both within the team as well as with other groups.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises the following roles (approx. 22):
  • Assembly Operators
  • Bending Operators
  • Crating Operators
  • Punching Operators
  • Suspension Operators
  • Perforator Operators
    Travel: Minimal; approximately 5-10%
