Vestas Supplier Quality and Development is part of Global Procurement in Vestas. We implement Vestas’ winning quality culture at the supplier with a clear focus to ensure our “doing it right 1st time” philosophy focuses on qualified suppliers. We are a culturally diverse team located in Denmark, Poland, Spain, and Portugal closely linked with our regional peers. We are the ambassadors of all quality topics with suppliers, e.g., enabling supplier innovation in new turbine development projects, thus propelling Vestas’ innovative sustainability strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering degree or equivalent required in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering and a minimum 5 years’ experience gained in a similar position
  • Master’s degree in quality management
  • Previous experience in manufacturing processes such as generators, gearboxes, or other high-complexity mechanical components, as well as process audit skills and experience
  • Certified auditor in one of the following standards ISO 9001/14001/ ISO 45001
  • VDA or APQP4Wind certification or demonstrated experience
  • Competency in software, spreadsheets, and database management
  • Fluent knowledge of English is needed

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deploy the Vestas Quality, Safety, and Sustainability Strategy towards external service suppliers for repairs, materials, and maintenance
  • Ensure Safety and quality from suppliers in the selected area, defining the quality framework by applying the proper qualification assessment methods (VDA, PPAP, APQP4Wind) qualification assessment process, within a range of responsibilities from assessment and development of suppliers to component qualification with PPAP or APQP4Wind methodologies
  • Coordinate supplier quality, capability, and performance topics on behalf and in compliance with the QHSE and commodity strategies
  • Secure agreement with global and regional Teams for the completion of supplier assessment improvement activities
  • Ensure relevant QHSE agreements with suppliers are established (contracts) in cooperation with relevant stakeholders, cross-functional teams and business
  • Secure suppliers are in compliance with the Vestas requirements and initiate actions in cases of non-conformities or incidents
  • Coordinate and conduct supplier development projects and supplier local initiatives and supervise and conduct QHSE audits on-site and prepare the executive report
